"This allows us to move most of the telematics out of the clinic, which reduces the number of visits by technicians to the hospital and thus the in-house documentation requirements. In the data center, the connectors are protected against a system failure," says Dirk Aagaard, akquinet's Board Member responsible for Sales, explaining the advantages.
If a connector or card reader is defective, the component is replaced free of charge as part of the contractual service. The security and availability of the data is thus significantly higher than when it is set up within the hospital. A further advantage is the possible, flexible expandibility of the telematics infrastructure, especially in view of the upcoming doctor's electronic health record and other changes in the area of telematics and IT. The suppliers of healthcare software can use a uniform interface or continue to use other existing interfaces and thus reduce development and maintenance costs.
As part of the offer, the Bensheim system house Concat will provide the Gematik-approved and BSI-certified components, the KoCoBox MED+ connector, and card terminals (Ingenico ORGA 6141 online, Cherry eGK keyboard G87-1505). Akquinet, as the contractual partner of clinics or practices, will install the system, including setting up the secure VPN connection and linking the connector to the PVS system. The Hamburg-based company will install the connectors in one of its TÜV-certified and BSI-tested German computer centers and provide maintenance and services.
